Blue Lights

If you like your autumn nights on the tense side, Blue Lights is a Belfast police drama that returned for its fourth series on 29th September. The story picks up six months after series three, and Richard Dormer returns as Gerry Cliff following his exit in series one. All six episodes are on BBC iPlayer, and series one to three are there too, so you can catch up first.

The Celebrity Traitors

The Celebrity Traitors starts its second series on 1st October, and Claudia Winkleman is back in the Scottish Highlands with 21 celebrities, including Michael Sheen, Bella Ramsey and Maya Jama. They’re playing for a £100,000 charity prize across ten episodes, so expect plenty of secrets, lies and group chat debates about who to trust.

Break Clause

Ben and Lil have split up, but their tenancy hasn’t ended. This new six-part Channel 4 romantic comedy stars Samuel Bottomley and Lara Ricote as the pair, who can’t get out of the tenancy and have to keep living in the same flat while they try to move on. If you’ve ever lived with someone you’d rather not, this one’s for you.

The Reluctant Vampire

Halloween is coming up, and this new BBC One horror comedy is based on a novel by Eric Morecambe. Lenny Rush plays Val, who has grown up believing he’s a vampire until he finds out he isn’t, and has to live a double life. Sian Clifford and Tom Davis are also in the cast.

VisionQuest

Marvel’s VisionQuest arrives on Disney+ on 14th October with eight episodes. It’s the third part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.

The Diplomat

Netflix’s political drama returns for a fourth series on 15th October. All eight hour-long episodes arrive on the same day.

Nobody Wants This

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as Joanne and Noah for a third series on 22nd October. The couple are moving into a home together, and Netflix has described this series as a lighter, more celebratory one. Andrew Rannells and Sarah Silverman join the cast, and all ten half-hour episodes drop on the same day.
